Bingo Community

Bingo and community have always gone hand in hand. Unlike lottery games which are enjoyed by players in isolation despite the fact that they are all depending on one central draw of numbers to determine the winners, bingo has traditionally been enjoyed by groups of players.

Although this sense of bingo community might be less obvious when playing online, it is certainly still there. We get to chat with other players as the numbers are called. We get to know the Chat Moderators that we see day after day. At many sites we also get to share our success stories and conduct ongoing conversations via message boards and web forums. Some sites even publish community newsletters and deliver them directly to us by email!

To get the most benefit from this bingo community when playing online, we need to make sure that we involve ourselves as fully as possible. Our suggestions for doing this are as follows:

• Actively chat. If you restrict your chat conversations to simply “3tg”, “wtg” and “ty” then people won’t really get to know you. Be brave and introduce yourself to the other roomies if you want to make some proper friends.

• Don’t ignore moderators. Yes, they’re in the chat room because they’re doing a job, but most Chat Moderators are also keen bingo players themselves, so don’t allow yourself to fall into an “us and them” mentality. Instead, befriend the moderators – they’re the people you can rely on to be around week after week!

• Use the web site. If your bingo online room has community pages on its web site, you should use them. Join in with conversations on message boards and forums, submit stories about your wins and comment positive on the success stories that other players submit.

By applying these three simple principles, you will begin to get more out of your online bingo community than you might have thought possible. And who knows... you might even make a handful of friends for life!
