Bingo Millionaires

Bingo MillionairesWe all like to daydream about winning a million pound, but I’d bet not many of us would think we might end up being Bingo millionaires. My Dad always played the football pools and hoped he’d get quid’s in, every week religiously he’d check his numbers to see if he’d been the lucky winner.

Of course the National Lottery launch in 1994 put paid to the football pools and become the most likely way to get yourself a nice cool million. Well of course now all these years later with technology as it is there’s as much chance of becoming a Bingo Millionaire as there is of winning the football pools or the National Lottery, more chance even?

More chance of becoming a bingo millionaire than by other methods? Not likely I hear you say. Well a Cambridge mathematician named Dr Oliver sat and worked out the likelihood of a £10 outlay bet winning a million in several different forms of gambling and the results make very interesting reading.

The least likely way to win a million is the National lottery and the chances of winning it are a one in 1.4 million. Next is the Pools with a one in 639,685 chance, you’ve got more likelihood with a bet at the bookies, that one comes at a one in 247,596 chance. The most likely way of winning a million is playing bingo with the odds coming in at one in 200,000.

The study came long before online bingo when the only way of becoming a bingo millionaire was to play the National Bingo game at one of hundreds of clubs across the country twice daily, now of course since the advent of online bingo one can only assume that the odds are much higher.

So there you have it from a Cambridge mathematician, the most likely way of becoming a millionaire is to play bingo! It’s official.
