The Saturn Bingo home page adopts, as you might expect, an astronomical theme, with an animated logo of Saturn itself being orbited by bingo balls. The main bulk of the screen is dominated by images of the games available to members, but there is also plenty of space devoted to a gallery of recent winners and their comments. Obviously, anyone who wins $30,000 playing online bingo is only going to say good things, so we registered to find out if Saturn Bingo was really as good as the lucky winners suggest.

Registering takes just a few moments, and once you've entered the usual details your first decision concerns whether to download the Saturn Bingo software or play via your web browser. We tried both, and although the download version might offer those on a slow connection a smoother and more reliable experience, there really seemed to be very little different between the two. It might make sense, therefore, to try playing on the web and downloading when you're sure you'll want to come back again.

Bingo players can choose between playing the 75 ball pattern game (where the player who covers all of the designated squares on their five by five grid first wins the prize) or the 90 ball game (where players have to make a line, two lines or a full house).

Tickets start at $0.50 each, but in some games if you buy five you get three free, which effectively brings the cost down to just $0.31 each. In other games tickets are more expensive and the free bonus cards rules differ, but the prize money on offer these games is obviously greater. Progressive jackpot games offer the potential for some very serious wins, and could see you joining the gallery of winners on the home page.

Bingo numbers are called very politely and clearly by a man or woman (depending on the game) with a British accent, and can be turned off at the click of a mouse button if you want to play more discreetly or in a quiet household. Other options include auto-daubing (essential if you want to buy the maximum of 100 tickets), automatic sorting of your cards so that your best ones are always in front of you, and three graphics quality settings - presumably for those using older computers or slower internet connections.

The game itself is no different than you will find at one hundred and one other online bingo sites, but the chat here is very sprightly and enjoyable. The Chat Moderators are extremely welcoming and helpful, and they sprinkle the best-looking Lucky Dust we've ever seen online. Our only moan here is that the chat room is only sparsely populated at certain times of the day. Hopefully this situation will change as the site becomes better known, but in the meantime, visiting during peak gaming hours will provide you with all the chat action you might need.

As well as bingo, Saturn Bingo also offers scores of mini games, including one-line slots, five-line slots, video slots, video poker, keno and pull tabs. All of these games are very well designed and will provide you will plenty of entertainment - and hopefully some profits - between bingo sessions. Just don't get so distracted that you neglect the bingo itself!

In summary, Saturn Bingo is an attractive site which offers an enjoyable bingo experience and some good additional features. We recommend an initial visit to see if it works for you - just be sure to let us know if you happen to be the next winner of a five-figure jackpot!
